From Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia.

Wayward Cave (Japanese: いの洞窟 Bewildering Cave) is a multi-floor cave located in western Sinnoh. It lies on Route 206, with two possible entrances hidden beneath the Cycling Road. One entrance leads into the upper level of Wayward Cave. There is another hidden entrance directly underneath the Cycling Road to west of the main entrance which leads into the lower level of the cave; this portion of the cave is notably the only habitat of wild Gible in Sinnoh (other than the Grand Underground in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl).

Cut is required to access the cave. Additionally, Rock Smash is required to navigate the portion accessible from the main entrance, while the Bike is required to navigate the portion accessible from the hidden entrance. Additionally, in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Brilliant Diamond, and Shining Pearl, Strength is required to access B1F. 1F is dark, but can be lit up with Flash.

In Hisui, Wayward Cave is part of the Coronet Highlands, located in the southern portion of this area. It connects to Wayward Wood.

Visiting the cave is completely optional in Generation IV and in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. It plays a small role in the plot of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, where the player will be led by Ingo through the cave.

Wayward Cave is just as the name suggests; it is very easy to get lost in. The cave features many pathways with sharp turns, with most of them leading the player to dead ends. Most of the paths are blocked by patches of rocks to force the player to turn back, though some of which can be broken with Rock Smash. The cave is very dark, so Flash is needed to light the path. An isolated pocket on this level can be accessed from B1F, which contains TM26 Earthquake.

B1F

The basement level can only be accessed by the hidden entrance obscured by the Cycling Road. It is filled with various bike obstacles, such as muddy slopes and jump ramps. The floor features lots of ledges, which lead the player back to the entrance. Flash is not needed to light the area in the basement floor. This is the only place where wild Gible are found in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.

Legends: Arceus

Wayward Cave is a single-leveled, sprawling maze of tunnels that interconnect and often terminate at dead ends. The pathways are sporadically dotted with torches, ore deposits, and Iron Chunks. Near the cave's exit to Wayward Wood, the tunnels feed into a large, open space with a small spring.

Partner Trainer

When the player first reaches the northeastern corner of the main cavern on 1F, they encounter a small lost girl named Mira. She is one of the Stat Trainers, specializing in the Special Attack stat. Alone and afraid, she asks the player to take her back to the cave's entrance. She does not appear in Legends: Arceus.

While Mira is with the player, they cannot use Dig as a field move or an Escape Rope. Once the player reaches the cave's entrance, she departs.

While Mira is with the player, all wild battles become Double Battles, and all Trainer battles that would otherwise be Double Battles become Multi Battles. After every battle, she completely heals the player's party.
