Viola & Vivillon arrive in Pokmon Masters EX in a new Seasonal Scout, alongside Holiday-themed Foc

Viola & Vivillon with Sycamore & Gogoat The holiday season comes to Pokémon Masters EX this week, with a present of new content for players. A brand new Holiday-themed story event, Focus on the Shining Shot!, makes its debut today alongside Seasonal Scouts featuring Viola in a fresh seasonal outfit together with her new sync partner Vivillon.

Story Event: Focus on the Shining Shot!
In this latest Story Event with a Holiday twist, Focus on the Shining Shot! stars Viola and Sycamore as they work compete in a photo contest being held by Lear as part of his winter party. This event will run through to December 26th, at 9:59pm (PST).

Story Event: Focus on the Shining Shot! - Event Medals By completing battles during this event, players can earn Winter Ticket A and Winter Ticket A+ items, which can be exchanged for a variety of valuable items including 5★ Scout Tickets, Power-Ups, Move Candy, Special Skill Feathers, and Support and Field Move Candy Coins. Players can also obtain Gems, Sprint and Field Move Candy Coins, and Event Medals for completing special missions during the event.

As usual for events of this type, players will have an increased chance of receiving bonus rewards if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs that players place in their lineup, the greater the bonus received. The applicable Sync Pairs and reward rates are as follows:

These bonuses stack additively, so having a team consisting of Viola (Holiday 2023) & Vivillon, Jasmine (Holiday 2022) & Ampharos, and Whitney (Holiday 2022) & Sawsbuck would grant a combined +140% (x2.4) rewards.

Players should also note the following when playing the Focus on the Shining Shot! event:

Viola & Sycamore in the Trainer Lodge Limited-Time Expedition Areas and Locations in the Trainer Lodge
Until December 26th, at 9:59pm (PST), limited-time locations themed around the Focus on the Shining Shot! story event will be available during interactions at the Trainer Lodge, along with a Limited-Time Expedition Area. Players will be able to form a Special Team in this Expedition Area that can receive substantial amounts of Expedition Awards. Drop-In Events will not appear for Special Teams on Expeditions. Once the limited-time expedition area disappears, Special Teams will be automatically disbanded, with any unclaimed items able to be received by going to the expedition screen.

Log-in Bonus
Focus on the Shining Shot! includes a log-in bonus over 14 days. Players can receive these bonuses up until December 28th at 9:59pm (PST), so even if you're a couple of days late starting the event you'll still have the chance to receive all of the available gifts.

Event Gem Specials
In conjunction with the Focus on the Shining Shot! Story Event, the following four Event Gem Specials will be available in the purchase gems tab of the in-game shop until December 31st, at 9:59pm (PST), offering discounted prices on paid gems.
Viola & Vivillon New Sync Pairs make their debut in Holiday-themed Scouts
Two new Seasonal Sync Pairs will be making their debut this week alongside the Focus on the Shining Shot! story event.

Viola Seasonal Scouts
The Viola Seasonal Scout offer players an opportunity to scout this brand new seasonal 5★ sync pair, who make their debut today as part of the Focus on the Shining Shot! Story Event.

Viola's 6★ EX outfit Viola (Holiday 2023) & Vivillon are a Bug-type Field Sync Pair with an unlockable Tech EX Role. When raised to 6★ EX, Viola's outfit is shifted to a Santa-inspired red and yellow design with white trim. Viola & Vivillon specialise in applying a variaty of stat debuffs onto opponents through a combination of moves and Passive Skills. By applying a Bug Zone to the field of play through their Bug Wish status move, they become able to use their Frozen Butterfly Stun Spore move, which paralyzes and confuses all opponents while reducing all stats by 1 stat rank. While their opponents are still impacted by these status conditions, their Hit Status Cond Opp: Stat ↓2 9 Passive Skill kicks in, allowing them to lower a random stat by 2 stat ranks at random whenever they successfully use a move against opponent, such as their Struggle Bug attack, which hits all opponents and reduces their Sp. Viola's Seasonal Scout gives players a bonus present for the first three times players perform a Sync Pair Scout x11, awarding a Field Move Candy Coin each time. This Seasonal Scout also include a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for x100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used 1 time per day during the entire length of the scout.

In addition to the regular Seasonal Scout, players can also take advantage of a Viola Seasonal Tiered Scout. This scout has ten tiers, each of which is a Sync Pair Scout ×11. Players are able to scout once on each tier by using Paid Gems, with the amount of gems increasing with each tier. Additionally, Tiers 5 and grants the player special tickets to use in an associated Viola Seasonal Featured Ticket Scout and Viola Seasonal Guaranteed Ticket Scout.

The Viola Seasonal Scout and Viola Seasonal Tiered Scout will both run until December 29th at 9:59pm (PST). The associated Ticket Scout meanwhile runs through to January 5th, 2024, at 9:59pm (PST).

Sycamore & Gogoat arrive later this week
Sygamore, who also has a starring role in Focus on the Shining Shot! alongside Viola, is expected to debut their new seasonal sync pair with Gogoat in their own separate Seasonal Scout beginning later this week, running through to December 29th, at 9:59pm (PST).
