Elio also forms a sync pair with his Espeon. This pair can be obtained through a Variety sync pair scout beginning on November 21, 2023. This pair can be raised to 6★ EX since it first released, though this pair lacks an EX style.

Trivia
- Elio is the only main character who has never appeared in an event story without his opposite-gender counterpart.
- Elio and Selene are one of two pairs of protagonists that are equally based on the player character from their games of origin, the other being Chase and Elaine.
- In the story event Galar's Poké Ball Enthusiast, it is confirmed that Elio knows that Professor Kukui is the Masked Royal.
- This was first implied in the Countdown 2021 log-in bonus, where Elio starts to address the Masked Royal as "Professor" before catching himself.
- In the Eevee Day Celebration! event Eevee Tales, Elio reveals that he first met his Espeon as an Eevee near Paniola Town.
Origin
Elio's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Sun and Moon. Popplio is one of the first partner Pokémon of Alola in the core series games. Popplio, Brionne, and Primarina's Dex entries come from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
Elio's Espeon may be based on the Eevee that can be obtained from an unnamed Pokémon Breeder at Paniola Ranch. Espeon is also known as the Sun Pokémon, which matches Elio's name origin of Helios, the Greek god of the sun, as well as Elio being one of the potential main characters of Pokémon Sun. Espeon's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
